Convert Excel to PDF

Excel to PDF turns a spreadsheet into a PDF anyone can open, even without Excel. Every visible sheet is included.

Choose a spreadsheet Accepts: One spreadsheet (.xlsx, .xls or .csv). Free, no sign-up.

Your files are processed inside this browser tab and are not uploaded to Maher PDF. Please read the Privacy Policy before working with sensitive documents.

The converter follows the sheet's own print settings: print area, paper size, orientation, margins, scaling and fit-to-page, manual page breaks and title rows repeated on every page. Cell formatting is kept: borders, fill colours (including theme colours), fonts, alignment, wrapped text, merged cells, column widths, row heights and number formats such as 1,250.00, percentages and dates. Pictures placed on the sheet are included, as are simple headers and footers with page numbers.

Charts and conditional formatting are not drawn; the result card tells you when a workbook contains them. If a sheet is wider than the page and has no fit-to-page setting, it is scaled down to fit the width (and the result card says so).

How to use Excel to PDF

Key features

  • Borders, fills, fonts, merged cells and number formats.
  • Print area, orientation, margins, scaling and fit-to-page.
  • Manual page breaks and repeated title rows.
  • Searchable text layer in the PDF.

Supported files

Input: .xlsx or .csv (old .xls files must be saved as .xlsx first). Output: a PDF with a searchable text layer. Formula results are taken from the values saved in the file; formulas that were never calculated (for example in files generated by some software) show blank and the result card counts them.

Privacy and security

The workbook is read and converted locally. Your figures are not uploaded.

Common problems

Some formula cells are blank.
The file was saved without calculated results. Open it in Excel or LibreOffice, save it once, and convert again.
A chart is missing.
Charts aren't included in the browser conversion. Export from Excel if you need them in the PDF.
Wide sheets look small.
The sheet was scaled to fit the page width. Set a print area or landscape orientation in Excel to control this.

Tips

  • Set the print area and orientation in Excel first; the converter honours them.
  • To get tables out of a PDF into Excel, use PDF to Excel.

Are hidden sheets included?

No. Hidden sheets, rows and columns are left out, as Excel does when printing.

Does it keep my number formats?

Yes. Values are shown with the cell's number format, for example 1,250.00, 12.5% or 06/10/2026.
