Convert PDF tables to Excel

PDF to Excel pulls tables and text out of a PDF into an .xlsx spreadsheet so you can sort, filter and calculate. Typical uses are bank statements, price lists, bills of quantities, survey reports and test results.

Your files are processed inside this browser tab and are not uploaded to Maher PDF. Scanned pages are read by an OCR engine hosted on maherpdf.com that runs on your device; your file stays on your device. Please read the Privacy Policy before working with sensitive documents.

Each PDF page becomes its own worksheet. Ruled tables are rebuilt cell by cell, with merged cells, borders, shading, fonts and column widths. Tables without lines are detected from text alignment, and the result card tells you how many were estimated this way so you know what to check.

Numbers are stored as real numbers when that is safe, keeping their decimals, thousands separators, percentages and currency formats. Values that only look numeric stay exactly as written: chainages such as 1+250, IDs with leading zeros and dates. Scanned pages are read with OCR (English, Arabic, or both). The OCR engine is hosted on maherpdf.com itself; it downloads once (about 6 MB) and then works offline. Your file is never sent anywhere.

Common problems

Columns are misaligned in a table without lines.
Borderless tables are estimated from text positions; the result card counts them. Check the column assignment.
A scanned number is wrong.
OCR can confuse similar digits (8 and 3, 1 and 7). The result card shows the confidence per page. Always check totals against the original.

Tips

Frequently asked questions

Will every table convert perfectly?

Ruled tables convert cell by cell. Tables without lines are estimated from alignment and may need small fixes.

Does it work with scanned statements and reports?

Yes. Pages are straightened, table lines are detected, and every cell is read with OCR. Check the totals against the original.

Will Excel treat chainages like 1+250 as numbers?

No. Chainages, IDs with leading zeros and dates are deliberately kept as text so they are never changed.
